1. Who we are
Simple Nutrition Tracker (simple-nutrition-tracker.com) provides a calorie-tracking service through a WhatsApp bot and companion web dashboard. For privacy questions, contact support@simple-nutrition-tracker.com.
2. Data we collect
- WhatsApp user ID (wa_id) — your phone-based WhatsApp identifier, used to link bot messages to your account. We do not receive your WhatsApp password.
- Food logs — meal descriptions, photos you send, estimated calories and macros, timestamps, and edits you make on the dashboard.
- Account settings — such as daily calorie goal and timezone.
- Authentication data — session tokens when you sign in via magic link (managed by Supabase Auth).
- Billing data — if you subscribe, payment is processed by Polar. We store subscription status, customer identifiers, and the email address used for billing; we do not store full card numbers.
- Technical logs — basic server logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps) for security and debugging.
3. How we use your data
- Provide calorie logging, AI analysis of text and photos, and dashboard access.
- Authenticate you via one-time magic links.
- Manage trials and paid subscriptions.
- Improve reliability, prevent abuse, and respond to support requests.
Food photos and text you send may be processed by third-party AI providers (e.g. Google Gemini) solely to estimate nutritional content. Do not send sensitive personal information in chat messages.
4. Legal bases (EEA/UK)
Where GDPR applies, we process data based on: performance of our service (account and logging), legitimate interests (security and product improvement), and consent where required (e.g. non-essential cookies).
5. Sharing with third parties
- Supabase — database and authentication hosting.
- Meta (WhatsApp) — messaging platform through which you interact with the bot (+62 857-3190-2731).
- Google (Gemini) — AI analysis of food text and images.
- Polar — subscription billing and payment processing.
- Netlify — web dashboard hosting.
We do not sell your personal data.
7. Retention
We keep food logs and account data while your account is active. You may request deletion by emailing support@simple-nutrition-tracker.com. Billing records may be retained as required by law.
8. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact support@simple-nutrition-tracker.com to exercise these rights. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
9. Security
We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), authenticated database access, and time-limited magic links. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
10. Children
The service is not directed at children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
